The Business Administration Level 2 competency-based programme is designed to offer the on-the-job-trainee, who has an interest in business, the exposure in a business environment and training in entry level administrative skills. The training involves both theoretical and on-the-job training. This requires trainees to complete assignments; as well engage in self-directed learning through completion of assignments and / projects outside of the structured classroom setting.
The Business Administration, level 2, programme is a pre-requisite for trainees interested in pursuing the Business Administration Level3, Business Management Level 3 or Administrative Assistant, Level (3) programme.

On successful completion the candidate will be awarded the National Vocational Qualification of Jamaica (NVQ-J) level 2, Business Administration certification. Trainees must successfully complete a minimum of thirty-three (33) units, including twenty-six (26) core units and a minimum of two (2) level 1, two (2) level 2 and three (3) level 3 electives.

Supervisors are actively involved in the trainees’ learning and development, by supervising the trainees’ on-the-job experience and providing coaching and mentoring. The supervisor is required to support transfer of learning to the work setting, and validate relevant workplace documents produced by the trainees, as required to form part of the evidence provided for internal assessment, for the on-the-job modality of assessment.

Trainees’ involvement in discussions during each session is an important aspect of the course. All trainees are expected to fully participate in class discussions and activities during all classes.
